How Play & Wellness collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Who we are

Play & Wellness is a play therapy and parent coaching practice in Cape Town run by Bronwen. For POPIA purposes, Bronwen is the responsible party for the information you share with us.

What we collect

  • Enquiries: your name, contact details and anything you choose to tell us when you phone or email.
  • Email sign-ups: your email address when you ask to hear about new groups or updates.
  • Therapy and coaching records: information about you and your child that is needed to provide sessions. This is collected in person, with your consent.

Please don't send sensitive information about your child by email or through the website. We'll talk privately.

Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange sessions
  • To provide therapy, coaching and workshops
  • To send the guides and emails you asked for
  • To meet legal and professional obligations

We don't sell your information or use it for anything you haven't agreed to.

Children's information

We only collect information about a child with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Children are never identified in stories, photos or testimonials without written consent.

Who we share it with

Your information is shared only when needed: with our online booking provider when you book a session, with the email service that sends our updates, with other professionals when you've agreed to a referral, or when the law requires it, including where a child's safety is at risk.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond. Clinical records are kept for as long as professional and legal requirements say. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in every email.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how it's used. Email play.wellness.therapy@gmail.com and we'll respond as soon as we can.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
